Lynch: AOC’s dangerous rhetoric is making NYC less safe

BRONX, NY… Today, the New York City Police Benevolent Association (PBA) endorsed former NYPD Officer and current high school civics teacher, John Cummings in his campaign against Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in New York’s 14th Congressional District.

PBA President Patrick J. Lynch said, “In this race, the choice for Bronx and Queens residents who value public safety is clear: John Cummings is a former police officer with a 30 year record of service in his community. He understand what it takes to reclaim our streets from chaos and violence.
“Meanwhile, his opponent and her radical allies are calling for defunding the police department while New Yorkers are being shot and killed in the streets. New York City’s elected officials have surrendered our streets to the criminals and made it impossible for police officers to do our job. We look forward to working with John Cummings in Congress towards our shared goal of a stronger, safer New York.”

John Cummings said, “I am grateful and excited for this very important endorsement from the NYC PBA. I have been to a lot of community meetings over the past 30 years and not once has anyone ever said they wanted fewer cops. Now, more than ever, we need to support the brave men and women of law enforcement who put their lives on the line to make New York safe for the rest of us. I look forward to working with the PBA and all of law enforcement to ensure New York City regains its lost status as the safest big city in America.”
